Ricky Collard started his full-time motorsport journey in the British Formula Ford Championship in 2014, taking five podiums in his debut season. In 2015, the then 18-year-old would improve, taking a total of 13 podiums, of which six were race victories.

After his second-place finish in the MSA Formula Championship, Collard would achieve the same feat in 2016, racing in the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship. Taking four pole positions, five race victories and a total of nine podiums, the Frimley-born racer impressed in his stint racing in the single-seater junior categories.

From 2017-2021, the now Team VERTU racer would compete in multiple GT championships. ADAC GT Masters, British GT Championship, GT World Challenge Europe (Sprint & Endurance), Intercontinental GT Challenge and the 24H Series were all championships competed in around a debut in the BTCC in 2018.

Collard would finish the 2018 season for Team BMW, making his championship debut at Rockingham. Straight up to speed, the 11 races competed in would see the then 23-year-old take his first podium in Race 1 at Silverstone.

It would be four more years before Collard returned to the championship, this time for Toyota Gazoo Racing UK. The two-year stint would see the #11 half his finishing position, coming home eighth in the 2023 standings. A year in which he would take his second podium, this time coming at Knockhill.

2024 would see Collard reunite with his father and 15-time BTCC race winner Rob Collard in the British GT Championship. The duo would go on to win the championship, taking victories at Donington Park and Oulton Park.

2026 sees the return of Collard to the BTCC, racing the #11 for Team VERTU alongside Tom Ingram, Tom Chilton and Nicolas Hamilton.
