Daniel Lloyd started racing at a professional level back in 2008 with his entry into the Ginetta Junior Championship. Initially fighting for wins from the off he impressed on his way to fifth in the standings in his debut year.

Immediately progressing to the Renault Clio Cup, Lloyd would come home 11th, fighting with familiar names such as Árón Taylor-Smith, Dave Newsham and Sam Tordoff. In the Winter of 2009, the Huddersfield-born racer would win the Renault Clio Winter Cup.

2010 would see Lloyd make a one-off appearance in the BTCC at his home round of Croft, racing the Vauxhall Vectra for Uniq Racing with Triple Eight, with a best finish of seventh.

Aside from a year in the Blancpain Sprint Series in 2014, it would be six years before Lloyd was back behind the wheel of a BTCC car. In 2016 the #123 would compete in three rounds, culminating once more at his home event of Croft. The then 24-year-old would better his highest finish after taking a sixth-place at Oulton Park.

Year on year the Huddersfield-born driver would continue to bolster his entry, going from four events in 2017 to seven events in 2018, including his first victory coming once again at the North Yorkshire circuit driving the Honda Civic Type R for BTC Norlin Racing.

Despite his growing presence in the BTCC paddock, Lloyd would step away to race in other touring car ventures for three years. His highlight was his dominant title season in TCR UK in 2018.

Returning to the series in 2021, the then Adrian Flux with Power Maxed Racing driver would finally have a full season of BTCC racing under his belt. Moving to Bristol Street Motors with Excelr8 TradePriceCars.com in 2022, Lloyd would add three more victories to his name with his best BTCC standings finish to date in 10th.

In 2023, Lloyd would drive a Cupra Leon to almost another winning year after a mechanical failure whilst leading at Donington Park would shatter any winning hopes of that season.

After a BTCC sabbatical, the Restart Racing driver returned to the series once more in familiar machinery, the Hyundai i30 N, the car in which he had his best season to date. This time, the Yorkshireman would be victorious across the board, taking an overall victory at Silverstone en route to winning the Independent Drivers’ crown as the team took top honours in the Independent Team’s Championship.
After initially stepping away from defending his Independent crown to focus on other business ventures, Lloyd now returns to the team for the final four events of 2026.
