Watson has demonstrated his versatility and skill across a variety of racing formats, proving himself as a formidable competitor on the global stage.

Watson’s motor racing journey began at the age of 15 in the Ginetta Junior Ireland Championship, where he quickly made a name for himself by securing regular podium finishes through to 2011. His early success in the Ginetta series set the foundation for a career marked by continuous growth and achievement.

The Northern Irishman’s résumé is further bolstered by his participation in major endurance events such as the Daytona 24 Hours and Spa 24 Hours. Watson's endurance racing prowess is highlighted by his impressive performances in the FIA WEC, where he earned class podiums at the 6 Hours of Monza and the 8 Hours of Bahrain. Additionally, his talent was on full display at the Bathurst 12 Hours, where he secured another class podium, solidifying his reputation as a consistent and reliable driver in some of the world's most demanding races.

In 2023, Watson made a seamless transition to touring cars, entering the BTCC with CarStore Power Maxed Racing. In his rookie season, he showcased his adaptability and racing acumen by clinching the Jack Sears Trophy, awarded to the top-performing rookie. Watson's impressive performances throughout the season saw him outshine his teammate, Mikey Doble, to take the coveted title.

Building on the momentum of his successful debut season, Watson has made a significant step in his career by joining TOYOTA GAZOO Racing UK for the 2024 BTCC season. This move to a manufacturer-backed team is a testament to his rapid rise in the touring car ranks and reflects the high regard in which he is held. As he embarks on his second BTCC campaign, Watson is hoping to further establish himself as a key contender, now with the support and resources of a top-tier team behind him.
