BTCC speeds into Scotland

Rounds 19, 20 and 21 of the 2024 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship are set to take place at Knockhill in Scotland this weekend (10/11 August) with the title race hotting up in the summer sun for the seventh race weekend of this sizzling season.

Tom Ingram heads north of the border having moved to the summit of the standings at Croft last month.

The Team BRISTOL STREET MOTORS star leads Jake Hill (Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport) by 21 points, with reigning champion Ash Sutton (NAPA Racing UK) also close behind, following wins last time out for Colin Turkington (Team BMW), Josh Cook (LKQ Euro Car Parts with SYNETIQ) and Ingram’s team-mate Tom Chilton (Team BRISTOL STREET MOTORS).

Six drivers still sit firmly in the hunt for the 2024 crown as this weekend’s results become ever more important to stay in the fight come the final weekend at Brands Hatch (6/7 October).

Local Lights

Heading back to the scene of his first BTCC weekend is Scotsman Aiden Moffat (LKQ Euro Car Parts with SYNETIQ) who returns to his home circuit now into the second decade of his BTCC career.

Ronan Pearson (Team BRISTOL STREET MOTORS) also heads to his home track for only the second time as a BTCC driver. The 22-year-old began his synergy with his home circuit by putting up signage and sponsor boards for this very event as a youngster, but now he’ll be charging for glory in front of a passionate and partisan crowd on Sunday.

Both have stood upon the top step of the rostrum this year with Moffat doing so at the opening weekend of the season at Donington Park. The 27-year-old started the final race of the day behind only Rob Huff (TOYOTA GAZOO Racing), before slipping through to take home his sixth BTCC victory.

Pearson also won in the final race of the day, but at Brands Hatch Indy at the very next event. The young talent won from pole to take his maiden victory in the championship.

The pair had a tough time as the BTCC returned from its summer break last time out at Croft as they both had a best result of tenth along with one DNF each. Both keeping their eyes forward, however, the home heroes will be looking to return to the rostrum at Knockhill.

TV, Timetable and Tickets

Rounds 19, 20 and 21 of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship at Knockhill on 10/11 August are anticipated to deliver thrilling races, along with myriad additional contests and entertainment options.

A variety of many areas of motorsport descend upon the Scottish hills as the Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain is the first support on the bill. Returning after a two-event absence is the future of single-seater talent in the British F4 Championship. The regular MINI CHALLENGE will also be on-track, as the famous Legends make its final appearance of the season.

There’s no denying the headline act of course and that is the BTCC and its triple-header of races. To be there, visit https://www.knockhill.com/events/fixture-Kwik-Fit-British-Touring-Car-Championship-id453 for more information.
