Multiple British Touring Car Champions WSR today (Saturday 26 September) announce their intention to enter the PM Junior Championship in 2027.

Talks are currently ongoing for WSR - who have won a total of 18 BTCC titles and have this year expanded their racing programme to encompass GTs - to run multiple cars in the exciting new series.

Set to run exclusively on the BTCC package from next year, the PM Junior Championship is designed for drivers aged 14-17 and has been created to provide a clear, professional and cost-controlled pathway into circuit racing.

Dick Bennetts, Team Principal, WSR: “We are constantly looking to further evolve as a team and outlining our intention to run cars in the new PM Junior Championship does just that. Having competed against Power Maxed Racing [car builder] for a number of years, we know that they will build a great car and with our expertise, we are confident in running them to the highest of levels. This is yet another exciting new chapter in the story of WSR.”

Carl Mitchell, Sporting and Operations Director, WSR: “As demonstrated by the GT programme that we have launched this year, WSR are constantly evaluating how to further diversify our motorsport activities, and the PM Junior Championship has been under significant consideration for some time. We’ve had some positive conversations with the organisers and our intention is to run multiple cars from next year. This will allow us to begin formulating a clear pathway for up-and-coming talent that could lead into either touring cars or GTs.”
