As we draw closer to the final two race weekends of the 2024 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship, we’re taking a look back at the story so far in each of the respective championships before the final push for glory.

Croft - Rounds 16-17-18
NAPA Racing UK entered the second half of the season having a 61 point lead over nearest rivals Team BRISTOL STREET MOTORS. That gap began to grow after the first bout at Croft as the championship leaders scored more points than any other team in the BTCC’s return to on track action.
Despite the early race day form, the second-placed team would ever so slightly cut the gap to 60 points as they left the North Yorkshire circuit. This could not be said for other teams as their gap to the frontrunners grew with LKQ Euro Car Parts with SYNETIQ maintaining third place narrowly ahead of Team BMW.
The only change in the order post-summer break would come in the form of TOYOTA GAZOO Racing UK leapfrogging Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport. Behind the first two teams, the points were spread relatively evenly with the Josh Cook and Aiden Moffat-driven team scoring 47 with both Team BMW and the duo of fast-charging Toyotas of Rob Huff and Andrew Watson scoring 46.

Knockhill - Rounds 19-20-21
It would be the fourth placed team, driven by Colin Turkington and Adam Morgan, that would go on to score the most points as the paddock headed to Scotland. Scoring 35 points in the opening race of the day, the Team BMW pair would equal the most points scored by a team in one race during the second half of the season. Team BRISTOL STREET MOTORS managed the feat in race three at Croft.
NAPA Racing UK would further extend their lead over the Hyundai i30N-driven second place team despite being outscored by ten points in the final contest of the day. Turkington and Morgan’s efforts would see them be the only team to gain a position in the standings after Knockhill.
Huff and Watson would continue to close in on Evans Halshaw Power Maxed Racing ahead; whilst only gaining one point on the second BMW 330e M Sport entry piloted by Jake Hill. Restart Racing would continue to open the gap between themselves and Duckhams Racing with Un-Limited Motorsport by scoring, at the fife-based circuit alone, double the points of the latter over the previous two events.

Donington Park GP - Rounds 22-23-24
Returning for the second year in a row and for only the second time in 22 years, the BTCC returned to the Donington Park GP circuit as Team BMW made it two events from two as the highest scoring team.
Despite their efforts to chip away at the lead of NAPA Racing UK, Team BRISTOL STREET MOTORS would again fall back to allow the Ford Focus ST-driven outfit to extend their championship lead to over 100 points.
LKQ Euro Car Parts with SYNETIQ, ahead of Turkington and Morgan’s BMWs at the halfway point of the season, now sit 45 points behind the WSR-run team after a rich run of form for Turkington and Morgan. In more BMW and Toyota battles, Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport had once again jumped ahead of TOYOTA GAZOO Racing UK by one point to put a duo of two-car teams behind them with two events remaining.
