Ash Sutton proved to be the man to beat during the opening test session at Snetterton today (13 July), as the second day of the Goodyear Tyre Test got underway.
The NAPA Racing UK man would grace the top spot early on before trading places with the likes of team-mate Dan Cammish and yesterday's pace-setter Gordon Shedden (Halfords Racing with Cataclean), but his lap time just one hour in would reward him with the honours by the end of the four-hour session.
With Cammish's lap leaving him in second, Jake Hill (ROKiT MB Motorsport) and Bristol Street Motors with EXCELR8 TradePriceCars.com's Tom Ingram edged Shedden back to fifth with P3 and P4 respectively.
A total of 27 competitors would hit the track, with nearly 700 laps completed between them as the teams and drivers ran through various testing programmes.
Two red flag stoppages would halt the action early on, as offs for Ash Hand (CarStore Power Maxed Racing) and then George Gamble (Car Gods with Ciceley Motorsport) saw their machines requiring recovery.
With a break for lunch currently on the cards, testing gets back underway from 1400 today, with a final three-hour session.
