Yesterday saw the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship take to the track at Donington Park for the final Top Ten Showdown qualifying format of the 2021 campaign.
While the times set within the initial session reflected the highly competitive nature of Britain's premier motorsport series this year, it was Gordon Shedden who took pole during the final minutes of the ten-minute pole position face-off.
Shedden's flying lap marks a new qualifying lap record around the 1.98-mile circuit, having pipped Colin Turkington's 2020 record by 0.004s. The three-time champion talks through his lap below:
