With the countdown to the 2022 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship well and truly on, btcc.net caught up with multiple race-winner Adam Morgan to talk all things BTCC ahead of the campaign.
The 33-year-old provides insight into how he found the switch to his rear-wheel drive BMW 330i M Sport in 2021, the dynamic of being part of a family-run team, his expectations of the level of competitiveness in 2022 and more in this exclusive interview.
"[The 2021 campaign] was always going to be a steep learning curve, making the switch from front-wheel drive to rear-wheel drive. We had some ups, and we had a few downs along the way. But I've thoroughly enjoyed it and, if you looked back over the season and analyse the curve of progression, during the first half we were well above that curve, we had some really good results and some really strong pace. But the last half of the season just, unfortunately, didn't go our way.
"Dan [Cammish] and Ash [Sutton] – that's an incredibly strong line-up. And Jake Hill going to WSR, he's going to be quick. But at the same time, it doesn't really matter. It's another driver in another car and we all want to beat each other. I think it's going to be an incredibly close year and it's going to be a race of who understands the hybrid fastest and makes the most out of it."
