The 2026 TOCA Night of Champions at Silverstone in November will celebrate the standout moments from this year's Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship, with the Fans' Choice Award once again giving you the opportunity to decide which achievement deserves recognition.
This year, five unforgettable moments are in contention, from emotional triumphs and long-awaited victories to breakthrough podiums and landmark wins. Today, we're looking back at Adam Morgan's impressive Knockhill victory, which marked the first BTCC win for the new Mercedes-AMG A35 Saloon following a challenging opening half of the campaign.
Adam Morgan produced a commanding performance around the 1.27-mile Knockhill circuit, converting pole position into victory in Sunday's opening encounter to secure the maiden win for the new Mercedes-AMG A35 Saloon.
The 2026 campaign had started with a period of development for the newly introduced machinery, but signs of progress were evident at Thruxton when Daniel Rowbottom secured the car's first overall podium.
That momentum continued at the Fife rollercoaster, where Morgan topped qualifying before claiming victory in Saturday's Race to Pole, securing his first BTCC pole position since Rockingham in 2018.
With the #33 Mercedes starting from the front of the grid for Sunday's opening contest, Morgan faced the challenge of maintaining his advantage in wet conditions around the notoriously demanding Scottish circuit.
The Lancastrian made a strong start and controlled proceedings at the front, whilst Rowbottom worked his way into second after an impressive move on Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport's Gordon Shedden.
With the two Mercedes A35 Saloons now occupying the leading positions, Morgan continued to set the pace despite the difficult conditions, as his fellow competitors battled for position behind.
Rowbottom held firm in second to complete a Mercedes one-two, crossing the line just 0.923 seconds behind Morgan, whilst Shedden held off NAPA Racing UK's Ash Sutton and Team VERTU's Tom Ingram to complete the podium.
The result marked a significant milestone for the new Mercedes programme, with its first race victory coming just six events into its debut BTCC campaign.
Morgan's impressive weekend continued with fifth place in Race 2 before adding another podium in the finale, finishing second behind Team VERTU's Tom Chilton.
Reflecting on his achievements, Morgan said: "I am completely blown away with a pole position, a race win, a second and a fifth."
Following a challenging opening half of the season, Morgan's Knockhill success marked a breakthrough for the Mercedes A35 Saloon, with his performance earning a nomination for the 2026 Fans' Choice Award.
