Donington Park set the scene for the first BTCC weekend of the year, showcasing three spectacular races plus the inaugural Qualifying Race, a double winner starting Sunday from the back of the grid and every new car taking victory.

As the 2026 season takes full flight, take a listen to the first instalment of Tin Top Tuesday powered by Power Maxed, which was aired earlier this week (Tuesday, 21 April).

The podcast opened with Adam Weaver (Team Owner, Power Maxed Racing), who reflected on his team’s impressive first weekend in the Audi A3 Saloon.

Mikey Doble (LKQ Euro Car Parts with Power Maxed Racing) was the next guest on the show, speaking as the first race winner of 2026. The now two-time BTCC race winner addressed his experience from turning up to pre-season testing a day late, to picking up the first trophy of the year less than one month later.

Alan Hyde caught up with Sam Riches (BTCC Technical Director), who clarified how the Closed Loop Boost Scrutineering (CLBS) is monitored and policed in 2026. Jason Plato (Team Owner and Team Manager, Cataclean Plato Racing) also joined the show as the all-new squad took the chequered flag in the first-ever ‘Race to Pole’ with Daniel Rowbottom behind the wheel of the #32 Mercedes A35 Saloon in a landmark week for the team.
