LAP OF HONOUR FOR HONDA’S MEAN MOWER

16th April 2014

Donington Park will not only host three thrilling BTCC contests and two headlining concerts this weekend, but it’ll also welcome home Honda’s world record breaking Mean Mower.

The Team Dynamics-built machine has featured heavily in some of the globe's biggest TV, radio and print media after originally breaking cover in this cleverly crafted advert from Honda (with a very familiar face behind the wheel):

More recently the machine was taken to the IDIADA Proving Ground, in Tarragona, Spain, where under the watchful eye of a Guinness World Records Adjudicator it smashed the previous mower benchmark of 87.83mph. When the results came in driver Piers Ward of BBC TopGear Magazine had achieved a speed averaging a sensational 116.57mph!

Now Honda’s Mean Mower will make a guest appearance during Sunday’s lunch break at Donington Park where fans will be able to see the speed and hear the noise of the 1000cc engine – it may even help the Leicestershire circuit mow some of its expansive lawns!

The original idea for Mean Mower was to demonstrate Honda’s sprit of innovation, its motor sport heritage, whilst sending out a strong reminder that it also makes more than just cars! Mean Mower was designed and built in the UK by Honda’s BTCC squad and was developed with feedback from drivers, three times BTCC champion Matt Neal and 2013 champion Gordon Shedden.

Now after it’s world tour and record breaking exploits the Honda Mean Mower will be coming home to wow the crowds at Donington Park!
