Stephen Jelley heads to Silverstone this weekend (23/24 September) ready to tackle the penultimate weekend in the British Touring Car Championship season in his Team BMW 330e M Sport.
It has been an up and down campaign for the Leicestershire-based racer, as he has shown good speed and performance behind the wheel but has also suffered from bad luck at key moments which have affected his race weekends.
Jelley recorded three point-scoring finishes on the 1.64-mile National circuit configuration in both 2021 and 2022, which will give him a boost coming into this year’s rounds as he and his teammates fight to secure an eighth-straight Manufacturers’ title for BMW and WSR.
“The team has done a fantastic job over recent months with the car and the handling and performance has been spot on, so I know that when we roll out at Silverstone we’ll be in a good place for the weekend," said Jelley.
"We’ve not had the luck of late – at Donington Park we were just off the reverse grid pole which would have completely turned our weekend around – but we’ll keep pushing hard at Silverstone and get the best results we can.”
The Team BMW driver will head out for two practice sessions on Saturday 23rd, before qualifying at 1535 that afternoon – which can be watched live on the ITV Sport YouTube channel. There are three 22-lap contests scheduled for the following day, set to take place at 1130, 1425, and 1710 – all of which will be broadcast live on ITV4.
