Today (3 October), Go-Fix With Autoaid Breakdown has announced the return of James Gornall to the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship for the final event of the 2023 season. Gornall will step into the driver's seat, replacing Jack Butel at the Brands Hatch GP this weekend (7/8 October).
Gornall is no stranger to the BTCC scene, having previously competed and earned valuable points in the championship. His last appearance in the series was in 2022, when he once again stepped in for Butel.
His association with Team HARD. Racing dates back to the 2021 Goodyear Tyre Test, where he first drove the Cupra Leon. Since then, he has been closely involved with the team, and now, has the opportunity to compete once again for the Maidstone-based outfit at their home circuit.
Brands Hatch GP is a track known for its challenges and opportunities, and it's a venue where both the car and Team HARD. Racing have traditionally performed well. The team is confident that with Gornall behind the wheel, they will have a competitive driver poised to make a strong showing in the final event of the BTCC season.
James Gornall, Go Fix With Autoaid Breakdown, said: "I'm thrilled to be back in the BTCC and to be representing Team HARD. Racing once again. It's an incredible opportunity, and I can't wait to hit the track at Brands Hatch on the GP loop, I achieved my best finish in the BTCC on this layout. The team has been working tirelessly, and I'm confident that together, we can deliver a great performance for the fans and sponsors."
Tony Gilham, Team HARD. Racing Owner, said: "James is no stranger to our team, and we're delighted to have him back with us for the final round at Brands Hatch GP. His experience and familiarity with our setup will be invaluable. We're aiming for a strong finish to the season, and we believe that with James on board, we can achieve that."
