Following a topsy turvy outing at Thruxton, Halfords Racing with Cataclean will be targeting Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship success at Oulton Park this weekend (11/12 June), where in 2021 the squad had double podiums for both drivers and a 1-2 in the opening contest.
The picturesque Cheshire circuit has proven successful for the team over the years with its fast and flowing nature, with drivers Gordon Shedden and Dan Rowbottom holding an impressive seven victories and a tally of 17 podium finishes around the 2.23-mile track.
"Thruxton was disappointing for me but we go again at Oulton," said Shedden. "It's an old-style track that suits my driving style, as I liken it to Knockhill with its dips and turns, plus the fans get an awesome close-up view of the action."
"Consistent points finishes for me at Thruxton was a great way to bounce back from Brands Hatch," added Rowbottom. "I love Oulton and, with it being the home circuit of my title sponsors Cataclean, it is all the more important for me to do well here this weekend.”
Returning to the site of his maiden victory, the BTCC website caught up with Rowbottom to discuss his expectations for the weekend as he prepares for the fourth event on the 2022 calendar.
