The Crazy Cart Championship will be coming to the iconic Brands Hatch Kart Circuit this weekend (7/8 October). This unique event, which has brought an additional layer of excitement to the BTCC all season, is set to display two fun and action-packed races after BTCC qualifying.
Initiated as a venture by Nick Halstead – supported by manufacturer Razor and courtesy of the Crazy Cart XL – the championship has gradually been drawing attention across the BTCC race weekends. These adult-sized carts, fitted with a single motor, four casters, and a specialised handle for multidirectional drifting, have presented an entertaining spectacle, allowing fans to see their favourite BTCC drivers out of their typical racing environments.
BTCC competitors Tom Chilton, Dan Rowbottom, Michael Crees, and the event’s progenitor, Halstead, will engage their racing prowess alongside Porsche champion Adam Smalley and MINI CHALLENGE leader Dan Zelos. The grid will also be joined by the renowned drift car aficionado, Steve (Baggsy) Biagioni, who promises to set up a huge battle against his BTCC competitors.
Fans in attendance can look forward to an evening of fun competition, hosted at the Brands Kart Circuit. Scheduled to commence at 1715 on Saturday 7th, this event guarantees a lighthearted addition to the action-packed finale weekend. The racing will be narrated by the beloved BTCC commentator, Alan Hyde, promising an immersive and memorable experience for all in attendance.
“The Crazy Cart Championship was born out of a simple desire: to give fans an opportunity to see the BTCC drivers in a lighthearted and exciting new competition," said Halstead. "Collaborating with Razor and receiving immense support from the race circuits has allowed us to gradually elevate this event, creating a fun-filled racing spectacle that complements the intensity of the BTCC.”
