The BTCC proudly adopted driver safety nets in 2019 - the FIA standard for protecting the head and upper body - becoming one of the first championships in the world to do so.
Racing Nets are designed to provide lateral restraint to the driver’s head and upper body during lateral and frontally-angled impacts in touring cars, GT racing and rallycross.
The safety nets are now mandatory in a number of FIA sanctioned competitions and categories, whilst also having been adopted by the likes of the BTCC and Australia’s Supercar Championship.
