Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport heads to Croft for the return of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship looking to maintain the momentum gained following their most successful race weekend in the series to date.
At Oulton Park last time out, Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport’s Jake Hill collected a double race victory, a second-placed finish, and three fastest laps to take home 62 points.
As a result, Hill surged up to third in the Drivers’ Championship as the series resumes for the second half of the season this weekend.
The team will be looking for a repeat of previous visits to the north east circuit, regarded as one of the most technical on the calendar. In 2022 Hill secured a treble of top-five finishes and a healthy points haul, while in 2021 MB Motorsport scored their maiden victory in the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship when Hill took home the win in race two.
Hill will be looking to reduce the 26-point deficit to championship leader NAPA Racing UK’s Ash Sutton when the racing resumes this weekend.
Qualifying kicks off the racing action at 15:25 (BST) on Saturday, after two free practice sessions to get back in the groove. Sunday features the usual triple-header of ITV4-televised action, with lights out at 12:10, 14:35 and 17:00 respectively.
Jake Hill (#24) said: “After the summer break, I'm feeling extremely motivated to get back out on track with the Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport team and resume our championship push. After my best-ever weekend in the series at Oulton Park, the goal is to build on that success and keep the momentum rolling into Croft.
“We know the competition is really tough this year, but the WSR team and I have been working extremely hard over the break so we're feeling confident that we can continue to stay fighting at the front. I have fond memories of Croft so I hope we can make some more this weekend!”
