The 20-time BTCC race winner Josh Cook has not publicly announced where the #66 will be driving in 2025, but the Bath-born racer has stated that a deal is in place for not only the coming season, but also for seasons to come.
"Plans are in place," Cook told the BTCC Media Team. "We have got it all sorted but we will be announcing in due course. I'm very excited for something that's got great legs not only for 25, but beyond that.
"I'm really excited to work with the group of people that are involved in it. So, that's all I can really say for now, but I'm very excited to say that I am sorted."
The goal is clear for Cook in his next endeavour, to win the championship. In 2021, the then Honda Civic Type-R driver finished a career best third in the standings. Since that year, close but not close enough has been the result.
The following years would see a fall in finishing position with sixth in 2022 and fifth in 2023, before the switch to the Toyota Corolla GR Sport last season returned another sixth-place finish overall. Now, the only goal is outright victory.
"I want to win the championship by any means possible. We need to win that title. I've needed a bit of a reset, I think. Certainly, last year, the latter part of the year was much better, we were very competitive.
"But there's something that we're probably lacking somewhere along the line, and I can't rule out that obviously I haven't played my part in all of that. It's not just the car. It's not just the team. It's the driver as well.
"So, I’ve spent the last few months really working on myself, make sure that I'm in the best shape I've ever been in. Mentally I'm in a really good place, working hard with the team to make sure that we've got everything we need. Getting plans in place to make sure that we execute something that's really good for 2025, but more importantly 2026 and onwards.
"I'm excited, I feel rejuvenated. Last year was a good season but it was not enough. We want to be winning more races; we want to be fighting for the championship. I'm pleased, raring to get going, I want to get back in a racing car as soon as I can."
