BTCC stars and cars at Goodwood Revival

12th September 2023

BTCC stars past and present – along with some classic tin-top machinery – featured heavily throughout last weekend’s Goodwood Revival at the world-famous Sussex venue.

A stacked entry list of BTCC figures guaranteed an exciting spectacle in the St Mary’s Trophy – a tumultuous clash of little versus large 1950s saloon cars.

With the likes of Gordon Shedden, Matt Neal, Anthony Reid, Rob Huff, Colin Turkington, Andrew Jordan, Tom Ingram and Tom Kristensen all taking part, it was sure to have its fair share of action.

After 25 minutes of jostling in Part 1 of the Trophy on Saturday, Huff and Kristensen took second and third respectively behind Le Mans legend Romain Dumas.

Household BTCC names could also be seen in a number of other contests across the weekend with Shedden, Neal and Jordan being joined by Rory Butcher and Sam Tordoff in the Fordwater Trophy – won by Jordan – on Saturday evening.

BTCC linked successes continued as Andy Priaulx charged to victory on Sunday in a star-studded RAC TT Celebration grid, beating fellow touring car associates Kristensen, Ingram, Shedden, Huff and Tiff Needel to the flag.

In earlier races, Jake Hill took the runner-up spot in the Freddie March Trophy, as the Kent driver continues to star in all sorts of machinery that he’s been able to race in so far this season.

Despite this being a fun and competitive weekend for the current BTCC drivers, attention now turns to the serious business and that’s the penultimate event on the BTCC calendar taking place at Silverstone on 23/24 September.
