BTCC Recap: The season so far...

This weekend (17/18 June), the 2023 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship heads to Oulton Park for its fifth event of the season.

The Cheshire circuit will host the last three rounds before the mid-season break, with five more action-packed race weekends scheduled from the end of July (29/30) to early October (7/8).

In case you've missed any of the tin-top action so far, here is a round up of some of the key moments from the first part of the 2023 campaign...

Donington Park National
The BTCC got off to a wet and wild start during the season opener at Donington Park. Dan Cammish (NAPA Racing UK) produced a race winning double during rounds one and two, while Tom Chilton (BRISTOL STREET MOTORS with EXCELR8) claimed his first BTCC triumph in four years during the finale, as the ever-changing conditions provided action throughout the order.

Brands Hatch Indy
Brands Hatch saw Colin Turkington (Team BMW) reach a victory milestone, as he moved up to second on the all-time BTCC winners list after his triumph in race one. Ash Sutton (NAPA Racing UK) then surged to two stunning successes in the following bouts as he got the better of BRISTOL STREET MOTORS with EXCELR8’s Tom Ingram and Turkington in race two, before scything his way from 11th on the grid to win a dramatic and tense finale.

Snetterton (300)
Sutton stamped his mark on the BTCC Title Race at Snetterton, as he scored another double triumph in the first two contests. Ingram then took his first victory of 2023 in the finale at the Norfolk circuit, while West Surrey Racing stablemates Colin Turkington and Jake Hill both reached the rostrum on two occasions during the day.

Thruxton
The UK's fastest circuit welcomed the BTCC's fourth event of the season. Sutton claimed his fifth and sixth race victories, as the NAPA Racing UK star extended his advantage in the overall Drivers’ standings. However, the final reverse grid race was won by team-mate Dan Rowbottom, completing a fantastic day for the Ford Focus squad.
