BTCC on TV: Donington GP

23rd August 2023

This weekend (26/27 August), the 2023 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship will be returning to the legendary Donington GP track layout, for the first time since 2002!

With only three race weekends left on the calendar, we’ve collated the key times to catch all the action from Rounds 22, 23 and 24, as well as ITV1 and ITV4’s highlights shows.

Only a couple weeks ago, the BTCC crossed the border to Scotland for its seventh event of the campaign, Knockhill (12/ 13 August), where the country’s best tin-top drivers produced an unforgettable trio of races amidst changeable conditions.

NAPA Racing UK's Ash Sutton extended his advantage in the Drivers’ standings to 37 points, helped by a victory in the finale. However, this was after Jake Hill (Laser Tools with MB Motorsport) had produced his own double to reignite his championship challenge.

Tom Ingram (BRISTOL STREET MOTORS with EXCELR8) remains second in the Driver standings, recovering well from race one disappointment to reach the rostrum in the reversed-grid encounter. While Hill’s two wins helped him climb to third overall, ahead of WSR BMW stablemate Colin Turkington.

A podium during the final bout for Josh Cook helped him and the One Motorsport with Starline Racing squad maintain their lead in the Independents’ honours.

In the fight for the Jack Sears Trophy, CarStore Power Maxed Racing is enjoying an intra-team battle, with rookies Mikey Doble and Andrew Watson separated by just a single point. Watson also scored his first outright podium during race one at Knockhill.
