NAPA Racing UK today announces Ash Sutton has signed a new five-year contract to remain in the British Touring Car Championship, through to the end of the 2031 season.
At Silverstone last month, both team and driver made history. Sutton wrapped up a record-breaking fifth BTCC Drivers’ title in emphatic style, whilst NAPA Racing UK similarly set a new benchmark with a fifth consecutive Teams Championship, maintaining the team’s one hundred-per cent record since joining the series. Alliance Racing also reclaimed the Manufacturers Championship for a second time.
The season finale at Brands Hatch marked a fitting milestone in Sutton’s career to agree new terms and secure a long-term future, with the aim of setting new benchmarks at the top of British motorsport.
Sutton joined NAPA Racing UK at its inception in 2022. Five seasons and nearly 150 race starts later, the partnership has yielded a remarkable 31 wins, 81 podiums, over 2,000 championship points, and two of Sutton’s five Drivers’ titles, all in the iconic NAPA colours.
Ash Sutton said: “I’m over the moon to agree a new contract to continue my journey in the British Touring Car Championship for the next five years.
“Over the last five years, we’ve had plenty of success, broken records, and made history together. I’m equally excited about what the future holds, to see what I can go on to achieve in my career and also this incredible journey with the team and its partners.
“Continuity is so important in the BTCC, and I already know I have the best team behind me, all chasing the same end goal. So, let’s see what milestone we can get next!
“Having my future guaranteed this early gives me the perfect platform to have a strong winter programme and to then come back next season in the best way possible, this championship doesn’t stand still, and I don’t plan to either.”
