MB MOTORSPORT POWERED BY ROKiT AND JAKE HILL TEAM UP WITH WSR

31st December 2021

MB Motorsport and BTCC front-runner Jake Hill are delighted to announce a striking new title partnership with next-generation global media company, ROKiT, that will see MB Motorsport powered by ROKiT, take to the grid this year in a BMW 330e M Sport thanks to an exciting new relationship with the 15-time BTCC Teams’ Champions, West Surrey Racing (WSR).

After enjoying their most successful year together last year which culminated in fan favourite Hill fighting it out all the way for the BTCC Drivers’ Championship, 2022 sees MB Motorsport welcome a new partnership with ROKiT alongside WSR as all parties set their sights on a fully-fledged Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship assault in the coming season.

A next-generation global media company with a proven track record in supporting talent and diversity across all their work, ROKiT have active engagements across a wide spectrum of business sectors including sport, television, films, music, drinks, smartphones, eBikes and Wi-Fi technology. With both parties united by a desire to do things differently, ROKiT’s new partnership with MB Motorsport for 2022 will enrich their work across the UK market and the team’s livery will feature some of ROKiT’s most prominent brands.

Jonathan Kendrick, Chairman of the ROKiT Group of Companies added:

"We are delighted to be announcing our new partnership with MB Motorsport in the British Touring Car Championship. We have a great relationship with Mark Blundell and his team and we are looking forward to building on that. The ROKiT Group continues to go from strength to strength and we are united in MB Motorsport’s bid to be at the very front of the field. Jake is a firm fan favourite in the BTCC and is hungry to achieve even more - we’re delighted to be helping a young British talent to try and take that next step."

Sporting Director of MB Motorsport and former Formula One driver and 24 Hours of Le Mans winner, Mark Blundell is thrilled to be working alongside ROKiT for 2022 and is confident that the new on-track package with WSR and their BMWs provides Hill with the best possible chance of success for the new season.

“We are delighted to be welcoming ROKiT into our BTCC programme for 2022 which we are truly excited by. As a team, MB Motorsport have always tried to do things a little differently within the BTCC and that is a desire which Jonathan and the ROKiT brand truly commit to in all their work. We are proud to be representing them on track next year and we look forward to helping take their brand to the front of the grid in the UK.

“Jake had an incredible season last year and really matured as a driver. Bringing that level of ability into a new operational partnership with WSR is again, really exciting. WSR and BMW have been the standard-bearers in the BTCC since we have been involved and we are really looking forward to working with Dick and all the team as we move forward into 2022.”

After finishing fifth in the overall standings last season thanks to two race victories and nine podium finishes, Jake Hill feels he now has the overall package behind him to take his upward trajectory in the British Touring Car Championship to the next level.

“Thanks to some incredible support and brilliant people around me, the last few seasons in the BTCC have just been getting better and better and I truly believe that working with MB Motorsport powered by ROKiT alongside WSR means that anything is possible again for 2022. I have always loved the underdog and compassionate spirit that runs through The ROKiT Group and am proud to be representing them this year.

“It has always been a dream of mine to work alongside WSR and BMW, I think I can be honest and say it is for pretty much every driver who aspires to be in the BTCC. To now have made that possible in 2022 thanks to some amazing people, I couldn’t be more grateful. I’ve been presented with an incredible opportunity and it’s now down to me to make the most of it.”

Managing Director and Team Principal of WSR, Dick Bennetts, is equally pleased to welcome the combination of Jake Hill, ROKiT and MB Motorsport into the BMW family for 2022.

“I have been incredibly impressed with Jake’s development as a driver in recent years both in and out of the BTCC and his arrival into the WSR family alongside MB Motorsport powered by ROKiT is a real coup ahead of the new season.

“We have long had a good relationship with Mark Blundell and his team and we are looking forward to building out a really strong partnership with them alongside ROKiT and their loyal partners as we enter a new era for the BTCC.”
