NAPA Racing UK currently stand at the top of three standings as the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship sits in its traditional summer break. The Alliance Racing-run squad holds plenty of momentum after a productive weekend at Oulton Park saw the team strengthen its position at the top.
A weekend of highs and lows around the Cheshire circuit ultimately delivered a strong points haul for the Ford Focus ST squad, with Dan Cammish emerging as the highest-scoring driver of the event, Ash Sutton holding an impressive championship lead, and Alliance Racing leaving the 12th round of the season leading the Drivers’, Teams’ and Manufacturers’/Constructors’ standings.
The action began with the Race to Pole, where Cammish lined up second on the grid with Sutton in sixth, Sam Osborne in 11th and Lewis Selby in 18th.
Cammish immediately found himself challenging at the front and maintained pressure on pole-sitter Árón Taylor-Smith (Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport) throughout the race. However, a five-second penalty for the Toyota driver following an infringement during a safety car restart meant Cammish was able to secure victory.
Behind, Sutton produced a strong recovery drive to claim third, while Selby progressed to 14th. Osborne’s race was compromised after an off at Cascades dropped him down the order, leaving him 18th at the finish.
That result placed Cammish on pole for the opening race of Sunday’s triple-header, and the experienced Yorkshireman made no mistake, converting his advantage into a lights-to-flag victory to secure his first race win of the 2026 campaign.
It was a more challenging contest for Sutton, who was caught up in contact with Josh Cook (Speedworks Corolla Racing) during the opening lap. Despite the setback, the four-time champion fought back to seventh, while Osborne climbed to 13th. Selby’s race came to an early end as he was unable to take the chequered flag.
NAPA Racing UK again reached the top step of the podium in Race 2, this time with Sutton delivering one of the standout performances of the weekend. The #116 driver produced a dominant display to win by 19.333 seconds, the largest winning margin recorded by any driver in the BTCC this century.
Cammish continued his strong weekend with third place whilst running the harder compound, while Osborne secured a top-ten finish and Selby progressed further to 14th.
The result set up an intriguing final race as the top 11 finishers were reversed on the grid, placing Osborne on the front row, with Cammish starting ninth and Sutton 11th.
Cammish once again demonstrated his pace to charge through the field and finish fourth, while Sutton ended up ninth. Osborne’s promising starting position unfortunately did not translate into the desired result, with 13th place coming after a challenging race, while Selby’s afternoon ended early following contact with Tom Chilton (Team VERTU) at Cascades.
Despite the mixed fortunes of the final contest, the Oulton Park weekend represented another important step in NAPA Racing UK’s title challenge. Sutton enters the summer break with a 48-point advantage over Tom Ingram (Team VERTU) in the Drivers’ Championship, while the squad sits at the head of both the Teams’ Championship and Manufacturers’ Championship.
The 2026 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship returns at the UK’s fastest circuit, Thruxton (25/26 July).
