Croft - Qualifying for Round 16

Ashley Sutton led the way heading into the second half of the year after not missing a single ‘Quick Six’ session through the first five events, a sequence that continued at Croft. Despite continuing the feat, Tom Ingram would take the lead of the championship with a third place come the end of qualifying at the North Yorkshire circuit.

Colin Turkington was the pole-man of the weekend ahead of Sutton’s team-mate Dan Cammish, as the pair closed the gap on the leading two in front of them. With Jake Hill qualifying 11th, the front-row pair jumped the Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport driver in the standings.

Knockhill - Qualifying for Round 19

Taking two pole positions in a row, Turkington would rise from fourth to top the standings after the championship’s trip to the Fife-based circuit. Árón Taylor-Smith would sit alongside the Team BMW driver on the front row, with the Evans Halshaw Power Maxed Racing driver rising from 11th to ninth in the Goodyear Wingfoot standings.

As Ingram qualified 15th, having the minimum hybrid available heading into the weekend, and Sutton missing out on the ‘Quick Six’ for the first time this year, the championship order was given a shake-up. Despite the reshuffle, the gap from first to fifth remained the same 20 point spread as it did entering the weekend.

Turkington would once again sit on the front row, retaining top spot in the standings. The Team BMW driver made it three events in a row where he shared the look into turn one with no rear-bumper in sight.

Sutton, after holding the top spot heading into the second half of the year, would sit second after his return to the ‘Quick Six’ finale. Ingram and Cammish sit in third and fourth respectively, as the pair remain within ten points of top spot.

Taylor-Smith made it three ‘Quick Six’ appearances in a row, this time with team-mate Mikey Doble joining him, as the Vauxhall Astra drivers both gained positions in the standings to sit eighth and 12th after impressive speed was found over the mid-season break.
