Kwik Fit took centre stage once again at Goodwood Festival of Speed last month (11-14 July) with thousands of fans enjoying the extensive BTCC activations, prior to the second half of the championship’s competitive campaign.
Several familiar faces dropped in to the Festival of Speed stand hosted by the UK’s number one automotive servicing and repair brand, including four-time champion Ash Sutton, Tom Ingram, Josh Cook, Dan Cammish, Dan Rowbottom, Mikey Doble, Jason Plato as well as ITV’s Louise Goodman and Jade Edwards.
Each took part in engaging interviews, Q&As, live podcast recordings, autograph signings and sim racing battles on the Kwik Fit stage over the weekend which was a hit with the crowds.
Fans were also able to get up close to four championship challengers on display including NAPA Racing UK’s Ford Focus ST, Team BRISTOL STREET MOTORS’ Hyundai i30 Fastback N Performance, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing UK’s Corolla GR Sport and Evans Halshaw Power Maxed Racing’s Vauxhall Astra.
These four cars were then put to the test on Kwik Fit’s racing simulators where attendees could run them on either Brands Hatch, Donington Park or Oulton Park. An event wide competition allowed the fastest times of each day to win tickets to a BTCC race of their choice.
There has been little time for Kwik Fit and the BTCC paddock to rest since, however, as the second half of the competitive campaign got back underway at Croft last month. This is where 2022 champion Ingram moved into the standings lead and is where he remains after the series' most recent run at Knockhill.
The 2024 BTCC title race continues to heat up as the UK’s premier motorsport series makes its way back to Donington Park for the iconic GP layout in a few weeks (24/25 August).
Tom Gentle, Head of Retail Marketing at Kwik Fit, said: “This was our third year exhibiting at the Festival of Speed and it’s always a calendar highlight for us. It was great to see how many attendees enjoyed the Kwik Fit stand and engaged with our BTCC activations over the festival. The support we receive from the BTCC family, including drivers, teams and fans is hugely appreciated.
The hard work – and fun – never stops though with the second half of the BTCC season now well underway. We can’t wait to see how the rest of the BTCC campaign unfolds and wish all the contenders and competitors the very best of luck!”
