Continuing the 7-Eleven series, we turn to the most successful active driver in the championship: Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport's Gordon Shedden. The three-time champion has made his move to the Independent squad pay off with two podiums from the first 12 races, one of them a win, his first in the chrome blue.
Donington Park
Shedden marked his Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport debut with a podium on race day one; the #52 Toyota Corolla GR Sport crossed the line third in Race 2 behind both NAPA Racing UK’s race winner Ash Sutton and Dan Cammish. The result also secured an Independents' class victory, a strong start for a team which was only in its first event running two cars.
Snetterton
The three-time champion improved on his season's best result in the weekend finale at Snetterton, delivering a defensive masterclass from pole position. The Scot held off an early challenge from the Cataclean Plato Racing pairing of Daniel Rowbottom and Adam Morgan, before four-time champion Sutton and two-time champion Tom Ingram (Team VERTU) both closed in over the second half of the race. Shedden would lead the trio home as nine championships stood on the podium. The #52 refused to be moved, taking the flag for his 54th career win, his first for Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport, and a second Independents' class victory of the day.
Shedden sits ninth in the Drivers' Championship as the mid-season break comes to a close, with the grid back in action at Thruxton (25/26 July) this weekend.
