Un-Limited Motorsport loan Cupra to Power Maxed Racing

12th August 2025

The fledgling Un-Limited Motorsport squad has taken the selfless decision to loan one of its Cupras to Power Maxed Racing following the devastating fire that destroyed the latter’s facility and race team operation at the weekend.

Kent-based Un-Limited Motorsport wanted to offer a huge gesture of support to PMR by standing down one of its cars, most recently driven by Stephen Jelley.

Due to exceptional circumstances, TOCA – organisers of the BTCC – has taken the decision to permit the lease of this car from Un-Limited Motorsport to PMR without it affecting their TBL allocation, with PMR thanking all parties for their incredible support and swift action.

The team will still field two Cupras at Knockhill and beyond, with Nic Hamilton (Powder Monkey Brewing Co with Esidock) and Dexter Patterson (ROKiT Racing with Un-Limited Motorsport) continuing their respective BTCC campaigns.

Bob Sharpless, Un-Limited Motorsport, said: “Hearing the news that Power Maxed Racing had been destroyed by a huge fire struck a chord with us and everyone within the motorsport community. We know how difficult it is to build a business and a race team, as well as the human story behind such devastation, and we wanted to see if there was anything we could do to support.

“We’ve been discussing the situation with business partner Matt Edwards and Adam Weaver, and it was clear that Un-Limited loaning a car to PMR would be of huge significance in helping the team get back on its feet. We are looking forward to the weekend, where we will compete against each other as hard as we always do, in true testament to the spirit of the BTCC.”

Adam Weaver, Power Maxed Racing, said: “The outpouring of support since the weekend has been nothing short of incredible and merely underlines my previous point – the BTCC is the most amazing motorsport community anywhere in the world.

“We still have an unfathomable amount of work ahead of this weekend, and beyond of course, but to be able to say that we will be on the grid with two cars is arguably one of the proudest moments of my career and the most poignant and significant moment in the history of Power Maxed Racing. Thank you to Un-Limited Motorsport, the Patterson’s and the wider BTCC family – this simply wouldn’t have been possible without their support.”

Rounds 19, 20 and 21 of the 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship take place at Knockhill this weekend (16/17 August).
