For the third successive season, NAPA Racing UK were crowned BTCC Teams’ Champions. Despite scoring a rather modest four race victories across the 2024 campaign, the Alliance Racing-run squad would top the table at the end of every single event due to impressive consistency at the sharp end of the action.
Ash Sutton led the charge for the Northampton-based team, commencing the title challenge with seven podiums from the opening seven races. The closest driver to matching that feat was Colin Turkington with three in the same timeframe.
Thruxton was the scene of the only full score coming at Round 12 of the season, also the team’s first win of the year. An eight-point gap became a ten-point gap, and then a 21-point lead, before its performances at the Hampshire circuit propelled the Ford Focus outfit into a 60-point advantage.
From that point, the margin was never indented by any other team as the eventual points differential between first and second ended at 115. What was even more impressive is that the team accrued an extra nine points from its 2023 title defence… with 13 fewer victories!
Winning all three Teams’ Championships since the squad’s formation, NAPA Racing UK has consistently shown its speed and consistency – highlighted by being the only team with two drivers within a shot at the Drivers’ title heading into the final round with Sutton and Dan Cammish.
The impressive three-year stint has also included victories and podiums for Dan Rowbottom, whilst Sam Osborne finished second in the latest campaign for the Jack Sears Trophy. Ever striding to improve, the Alliance Racing-run squad will be going for four-in-a-row in 2025!
