21st June 2025

Hyundais occupied four of the top six positions in FP2 as Chris Smiley topped the times amidst slightly cooler conditions at Oulton Park.

The fifth event of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship kicked off in sweltering heat as Dan Rowbottom headed a NAPA Racing UK one-two-three in the opening session, before light rain fell prior to final practice.

Team VERTU's Tom Ingram and Adam Morgan were third and fifth respectively with another Toyota Corolla of James Dorlin wedged between them on the timesheets.

Daniel Lloyd ensured both Restart Racing Hyundais were in the top six, whilst three-time champion Gordon Shedden made it three TOYOTA GAZOO Racing UK with IAA Corollas in the top seven.

Mikey Doble was the first non-Hyundai or Toyota in the order as the Motor Parts Direct with Power Maxed Racing Vauxhall driver came home in eighth, whilst Dexter Patterson (ROKiT Racing with Un-Limited Motorsport) and Dan Cammish (NAPA Racing UK) completed to the top ten order.

FP1 pacesetter Dan Rowbottom was just outside the leading order in 11th, but the Ford Focus man remains confident ahead of qualifying.

"I love Oulton Park," he said. "We're coming into a run of circuit that I really enjoy – Oulton, Croft and Knockhill – but the atmosphere here is pretty special and unique."
