Rowbottom leads the way in FP1

30th August 2025

NAPA Racing UK's Dan Rowbottom hit the front in the opening Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship free practice session at Donington Park, as his affiliation with the circuit continues.

The Kidderminster driver has had a pole position on the National layout, as well as a podium earlier in the season, but the #32 will be looking to break his duck on the Grand Prix circuit this weekend.

Team VERTU's Tom Ingram led the way for much of the running as the championship leader remains at the sharp end in almost every session this season. His Hyundai i30N squad will have been further buoyed by the announcement this week that title sponsor Vertu has signed a new multi-year deal with the team.

Daniel Lloyd (Restart Racing) and Dan Cammish (NAPA Racing UK) set an identical lap time around the 2.49-mile circuit to go third and fourth respectively as the Ford and Hyundai machinery looked to be the class of the field in the opening session.

LKQ Euro Car Parts Racing with WSR's Charles Rainford was the first of the BMWs in the order as the rookie looks to build upon his Knockhill podium last time out, whilst Ashley Sutton (NAPA Racing UK) and Árón Taylor-Smith (TOYOTA GAZOO Racing UK with IAA) were sixth and seventh respectively.

Tom Chilton (Team VERTU), Chris Smiley (Restart Racing) and Daryl DeLeon (WSR) completed the top ten positions.

FP2 commences at 1150, whilst Qualifying for Round 22 of the 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship takes place at 1525 and will be streamed LIVE via the ITV YouTube channel.
