Dan Rowbottom topped the opening Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship free practice session at Oulton Park, leading home a NAPA Racing UK one-two-three.
Rowbottom's two wins so far this season – doubling his number of career victories in the BTCC – have fired the Kidderminster racer into title contention and he's seemingly confident of continuing that challenge at the picturesque Cheshire venue.
Teammate Ash Sutton was just 0.095s behind Rowbottom, whilst Dan Cammish ensured it was an all Ford Focus front three to kick things off around the 2.23-mile circuit.
Continuing the triple threat theme, Team VERTU occupied fourth to sixth on the timesheets with Tom Chilton and Tom Ingram leading home local light Adam Morgan.
All three Goodyear tyre compounds were used for the first time during FP1, so it's always difficult to take too much from the times, but both NAPA Racing UK and Team VERTU will still be pleased with their ongoing form.
One Motorsport's Josh Cook was seventh, whilst another trio rounded out the top ten with TOYOTA GAZOO Racing UK with IAA's Gordon Shedden, Aron Taylor-Smith and James Dorlin all enjoying a decent session for the local Speedworks-run squad.
