NAPA Racing UK enjoyed Teams’ Championship success once again in 2024, making it a hat-trick of victories since 2022. In what turned out to be a season based on consistency – taking a quarter of the victories it managed a year prior – the Northampton-based squad enjoyed some extremely memorable weekends in 2024…
Snetterton
The trip to Norfolk saw the blue and yellow team have celebratory moments in each and every race. In the opening bout, four-time BTCC champion Ash Sutton would stand on the podium for the seventh straight race, making it a 100% success rate since the start of the season.
Dan Cammish would enjoy the spoils of the second exchange, as the Yorkshireman would extend Sutton’s work to give the team an eighth podium in a row – an unmatched feat by any team during the 2024 season.
After a slip up in race two it would be Sutton jumping back to the forefront as, starting from 20th, the #1 would climb up the order to come home fifth in the finale. In what was far from ideal conditions, the Ford Focus ST would slice through the field on his pilgrimage back to the points.
Thruxton
Winning over half of the races in 2023, it is hard to imagine that the Alliance Racing-run group would go 11 rounds without a victory. Even though this was the case, it was a momentous occasion to pick up the win.
Sutton started the final race of the day in fourth place with Cammish behind in sixth. The duo would work their way forward to not only take the team’s first win of the season, but a one-two finish as well.
The final bout would bookend an impressive weekend for the Ford Focus ST-driven squad. Cammish would collect major points having finished second in every race while Sutton scored two podiums, one of those the triumph that closed out the day.
Donington Park GP
Another weekend of success for NAPA Racing UK, taking two overall victories and a Jack Sears Trophy (JST) win as well. The JST success would come in the opening bout of the day for Sam Osborne, alongside Sutton taking another podium with a second-place overall finish.
Race two, the #1 would take it one step further with a dominant victory after passing fellow four-time BTCC Champion Colin Turkington early on. The gap would never drop, and Sutton would sail off into the distance.
Despite only one victory before this weekend, the team tripled that count by the end of race day – this time it was the #27’s turn to take top spot. After a light shower and a brief safety car period, the pressure was on for the Yorkshireman to bring the car home in one piece, a feat Cammish managed superbly.
Brands Hatch GP
The final race of the 2024 campaign saw NAPA Racing UK win everything on offer. Sutton would take his third and the team’s fourth victory of the campaign as the sun set on the most recent season.
In doing so, the Northampton-based team won its third successive Teams’ Championship, winning every one it has entered since 2022.
Completing the weekend was Osborne’s double JST victories that would bookend an incredible second half of the season for the #77.
