Perfect Ten: Daryl DeLeon

11th July 2025

As the mid-season break continues, our celebration of 2025’s BTCC winners so far — the Perfect Ten — turns to Daryl DeLeon, who earned his first BTCC win in an action-packed race two at Brands Hatch Indy.

Brands Hatch Indy – Race 2

DeLeon started from seventh on the grid but wasted no time making his way forward in a highly competitive field, the WSR driver picked off rivals in quick succession around the challenging Brands Hatch Indy layout.

Many front runners ran on soft tyres, with DeLeon expertly managing his rubber to capitalise as others’ faded. The handful of hard tyre runners struggled to match the pace, with Charles Rainford the highest finisher on that compound in seventh.

His decisive move for the lead came mid-race, and once in front, DeLeon set about controlling the pace — carefully balancing aggression with tyre conservation.

Behind him, Adam Morgan pressed hard, pushing the young driver to maintain peak concentration. However, DeLeon remained unflappable, extending his advantage and crossing the line 3.6 seconds clear to take a memorable maiden victory in his 50th BTCC race.

This result marked a breakthrough for DeLeon, further bolstering WSR’s strong weekend at Brands Hatch.

Championship Outlook

DeLeon currently sits 12th in the drivers’ championship as the season reaches its mid-point. While still outside the top contenders, his maiden win at Brands Hatch Indy is a major milestone and a sign of his growing potential.

As the championship enters the summer break, DeLeon will be aiming to convert strong race performances into consistent points finishes and further breakthroughs. With upcoming races at circuits that have historically been kind to both him and the BMW 330i M Sport, he is well placed to build momentum when the BTCC returns at Croft (2/3 August).
