Motor Parts Direct becomes joint Title Partner to Power Maxed Racing

17th March 2025

It has been announced today (17 March) that multiple title-winning squad Power Maxed Racing will contest the 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship after striking a new joint Title Partnership with Motor Parts Direct.

As existing long-term trading partners – through 181 nationwide Motor Parts Direct stores – a further collaboration has been secured between the two brands, resulting in the newly named Motor Parts Direct with Power Maxed Racing for 2025.

Initially finalising a one-car entry – with the driver to be confirmed later this week – PMR is working tirelessly to attract and present additional automotive brand names to its successful BTCC portfolio, which will hopefully help cement a two-car programme.

Motor Parts Direct, as the name would suggest, offer motor parts nationwide to both trade garages and retail customers. While its competitors often deliver the same products, Motor Parts Direct prides itself on a point of difference forged through its quality of service, developing staff to deliver both service and knowledge beyond their customers’ expectations.

Power Maxed Racing is off the back of arguably its finest ever season in the BTCC, scoring outright podiums in 2024 while on the way to winning the Independent Teams’, Independent Drivers’ and Jack Sears Trophy titles.

The base livery of the car has been completed (see associated images), with the Motor Parts Direct branding joining the squad, whilst further sponsors and partners will be confirmed over the coming weeks.

A driver announcement will be made on Wednesday (19 March) before the team embarks on its pre-season test programme, which will include visits to both Croft and Donington Park.

Daren Wykes, Managing Director – Motor Parts Direct, said: “We have worked with Automotive Brands and their Power Maxed and Steel Seal brands for well over 10 years. We have attended the BTCC numerous times over the years with Power Maxed Racing and therefore know them very well. We have also seen just how engaged the BTCC fan base is and we have wanted to be involved in the championship for some time, we felt PMR were the obvious and best choice for us to partner with. We were delighted when the opportunity presented itself, albeit earlier than expected, and we just had to find a way to make it happen. Our colleagues here at Motor Parts Direct are so excited about the partnership and I am sure our customer base will be too.”

Kevin Blazey, Marketing Director – Motor Parts Direct, said: “Motor Parts Direct have established an enviable reputation for quality and reliability, an ethos that aligns perfectly with both motorsport and Power Maxed Racing. We are very excited to bring our brand to the BTCC, alongside that of long-term partners Power Maxed, and look forward to the opportunities it creates for us both on and off the track.”

Adam Weaver, Team Principal of Power Maxed Racing and Managing Director of Power Maxed, said: “This is something that I have tried to make happen for a number of years, therefore I'm incredibly happy that it is now going to become reality. I know Daren, Kevin and many of the team across Motor Parts Direct as I have worked with them for years, so it’s really exciting to be starting this journey with such a strong relationship already established. As a race team we are looking forward to making sure that their experience of the BTCC is a fantastic one and look forward to helping them elevate their brand even further.”
