BMW were once again embroiled in a season-long battle with Alliance Racing/Ford successfully attempting to become victorious in the Manufacturers/Constructors' Championship for a record-breaking 10th time. The bavarian outfit led the opening two events, but would not leave a race weekend at the top of the standings again until the very last round on their course for rewriting the record books.
The 2023 Championship was won by Alliance Racing/Ford but it was not as easy as its other triumphs in the same year. Despite scoring 802 points, the Northampton-based outfit only won by four points to BMW. The two giants were back once again along with returning rivals in EXCELR8 Motorsport/Hyundai and Toyota battling it out during a memorable 2024 campaign.
Donington Park National - Rounds 1-2-3
It would be last year's runners-up that would leave the first weekend on top after recording the only 30+ point race of any outfit in the final race of the day. BMW went into the final race of the day tied on points with Alliance Racing/Ford before getting a seven-point buffer.
EXCELR8 Motorsport/Hyundai had started the day as well as it could as it lead both teams above in the standings after race one. Then a one-car score even with an outright win in race two saw the team drop to third in the standings. The full new driver line-up at Toyota embedded in to come away from the opening weekend ten points behind the outfit ahead of them.

As the bar was raised, the gap at the top shrunk as Alliance Racing/Ford had closed the gap to two points by the end of the weekend.
EXCELR8 Motorsport/Hyundai had also closed the gap to the top with nine points to the Northampton-based outfit and 11 to BMW. Toyota did not match the level of the rest as it scored its highest points haul in a race in the opening race of the weekend before the points tally lowered race-on-race.

Snetterton - Rounds 7-8-9
Snetterton was a weekend of change as the Championship lead took a turn along with the weather being as unpredictable as ever. Alliance Racing/Ford climbed to the top of the standings as it outscored BMW in every race across the Norfolk event.
Toyota outscored all competitors with the best race of any team across the season in the final race of the weekend. This was after race two was also its best round of the season so far. EXCELR8 Motorsport/Hyundai had its worst event so far as the adverse weather left the team making some unsuccessful opportunistic strategy moves.

The fastest circuit in the UK saw Alliance Racing/Ford make the first breakaway of the season as the team failed to register a sub 30-point race. Along with the consistently strong results they also achieved what Toyota had at the last event in getting a maximum score in a race.
All gaps began to grow as BMW found itself 23 points adrift from the top with EXCELR8 Motorsport/Hyundai a further 33 behind. After going from its best, Toyota had its worst weekend of the season so far as the Manufacturer sat 33 points behind third to sit in fourth and 89 from the top of the table.

Alliance Racing/Ford would hold onto its advantage despite bringing home its lowest scoring result in race three. BMW would close in to the top as every team had one race of 30+ points.
The gap between BMW and EXCELR8 Motorsport/Hyundai would grow by 12 points as the former would hold a 45 point advantage heading into the mid-season break. Toyota would close in on third place whilst still falling back from the lead.

Croft - Rounds 16-17-18
Alliance Racing/Ford were the cream of the crop before the mid-season break and further extended its advantage over BMW at the first opportunity back. It was the latter of the two that would score the most points in the opening bout of the day, but the former would respond to leave Croft with a 15-point cushion.
EXCELR8 Motorsport/Hyundai in third would be the highest scoring outfit at the North Yorkshire circuit. After a slower start to the day a haul of 35 points in race three, which has only been bettered three times before in 2024, would close in on the team ahead by 18 points across the weekend.
The only squad to better that single race score of 35 on two occasions is Toyota, who achieved it in the second race of the day. Despite the high score, Toyota would fall further behind EXCELR8 Motorsport/Hyundai by ten points after the visit to Croft.

The trip north of the border saw the lead of Alliance Racing/Ford slashed by more than half after a monumental performance from BMW. The championship leaders would have a consistent weekend, twice scoring 23 points and scoring 24 points in the middle race of the day.
Despite the decent haul, the second-placed outfit had such a strong weekend that would drastically dent the advantage at the front. Amassing 72 points out of a possible 74 across the first two contests, BMW would take 22 points out of first and gain 32 on third.
EXCELR8 Motorsport/Hyundai would not enjoy its first on track battle of the weekend as it posted the first single digit score of an outfit in a single race all season. Even after rescuing the weekend, it would still mean that Toyota gained 11 points with nine races remaining.

Donington Park GP - Rounds 22-23-24
Alliance Racing/Ford would once again hold onto the lead of the championship, but by only the slender advantage of two points. The outfit did not have a bad weekend by any stretch, never scoring below 20 points and walking away with a 30-point race also.
Even with the above being the case, BMW once again outshone the rest of the field to take a further chunk out of the championship lead. In the opening two races the Bavarian marque once again impressed, scoring 67 out of a possible 74 and after outscoring the leaders in every race, would sit right on the heels of the leaders with six races to go.
After being the first outfit to do so at the last event, EXCELR8 Motorsport/Hyundai would once again have a single digit scoring race. It means Toyota has closed to within six points as the championship splits into two separate rivalries with two events remaining.

Silverstone National - Rounds 25-26-27
To the naked eye not much changed before and after Silverstone as the gap grew from a two-point gap to a four-point gap out in front. This could not have been more different despite the initial round of the weekend resulting in a dead heat between both Alliance Racing/Ford and BMW, the second time they had tied on points in a race all year.
The following two bouts saw drastic swings in points in both directions. The first of the two races saw BMW take the top spot after outscoring the Northampton-based outfit by 17 points. Despite the high-scoring form, the WSR-run team would suffer in a red flag-affected race three as they fell back to second after being outscored by 19 points.
EXCELR8 Motorsport/Hyundai would also share a small swing in points with Toyota for their battle for third. Outscoring the Japanese manufacturer by 11 points in the opening exchange, the third-placed team would go on to lose 12 points in the second race of the weekend before gaining back four to close out the weekend. After the trip to the Northamptonshire-based circuit had concluded, the gap had grown from six to nine.

It all came down to one final weekend to see which outfit would walk away the Manufacturers/Constructors Champions of 2024. BMW opened their account as best as they could with a full score in the opening race around the Kent circuit.
After being behind by four points before any racing took place, the bavarian outfit would outscore Alliance Racing/Ford by 32 points in the first two races to give themselves a 28-point lead heading into the final contest of the season. There was then be a fight back from the Northampton-based outfit having scored 33 points in the last race of the day but it was not enough. BMW would hold a 23 point advantage after Brands Hatch GP to become the 2024 BTCC Manufacturers/Constructors' Champions, a record-breaking 10th time for the WSR-run outfit.
Toyota could not have had a worse start to the final event of the year having the only non-score of any manufacturer all season in race one. This had already tied one hand behind their back to which EXCELR8 Motorsport/Hyundai outscoring them in every race of the day to hold onto third place in the 2024 season.
