Following on from Doble’s Jack Sears Trophy (JST) success, we also take a look at Evans Halshaw Power Maxed Racing’s clean sweep of the Independents’ classes, ensuring the Evesham-based squad walked away from 2024 with a trio of titles.
Árón Taylor-Smith had a just as dominant campaign as his team-mate in the JST, if not more in the Independent Drivers’ category, as he blew away the competition with an incredible 20 wins from the 30 bouts.
In the end, the numbers were staggering. Out of the 30 races across the season, the #40 would finish off of the podium… once, and even that was a fourth-place finish. A total of 600 points were on offer throughout the season and Taylor-Smith would go on to end the campaign only failing to gather 36 of them.
It could be argued that the second trip to Donington Park, around the GP configuration, was the Irishman’s best weekend. Being one of two weekends in which the #40 would stand atop the podium in all three races but not only that, also finishing the weekend with an overall podium as well.
As much as both drivers’ individual efforts for the Evesham-based team were extraordinary, neither still compare to their joint effort for the Independent Teams’ Championship. Kicking off the season with a 17-race win streak, the team would go on to take a total of 27 triumphs throughout the year.
Out of the ten events across the 2024 campaign, the Vauxhall Astra-driven outfit would win all races at seven of those, whilst the overall podium brace at Oulton Park was also a particular highlight.
2024 has certainly been a year to remember for Evans Halshaw Power Maxed Racing.
