Pearson had an impressive 2022 campaign, where he took three race wins to spearhead EXCELR8’s championship assault in the BTCC supporting MINI CHALLENGE series.
As a member of EXCELR8’s BTCC Young Driver Development Programme, Pearson also spent the 2022 season working alongside its title-winning BTCC team to gain insight into what is required to compete at the highest level of British motorsport. In 2023, Ronan Pearson made his BTCC debut as a part of EXCELR8 Motorsport’s line-up.
The Scot impressed during his rookie season narrowly missing out on his first podium with his best finish of the season being fourth place, at his home race of Knockhill.
Not only would Pearson stand on the podium only six races into 2024, but the third race at Brands Hatch Indy would also be Pearson’s maiden BTCC victory. The young Scot would continue to impress in only his second season in the series but would cut his year short after his home event at Knockhill.
Returning in 2025, Pearson sees himself line up with returning three-time champion Gordon Shedden, the current Independent Drivers’ champion Aron Taylor-Smith and rookie James Dorlin in the revamped Speedworks Motorsport entry for TOYOTA GAZOO Racing UK with IAA.
After taking his maiden victory in previous season Pearson will have his sights set firmly on the Jack Sears Trophy.
