Patterson started out as most did by karting from the young age of seven, winning his first championships in 2015 in the Super 1 National and Formula Kart Stars series’. The Young Scot would then go on to take championships in the subsequent two years and contuinng to have only winning years until his jump to single seaters.
2020 would see Patterson take the step to Formula 4 UAE in the Winter before taking on the Italian F4 championship competing with some of Europe’s rising stars. After his year in Europe the then 18-year old would drive in the BRDC British F3 Championship for the first half of the campaign scoring a podium in only his third race in the series.
From a half season to a full season 2022 would be the year Patterson made his first steps into BTCC racing. Joining Laser Tools Racing the Infiniti Q50 driver would come home 23rd in his debut campaign.
Moving to the Cupra Leon in 2023, Patterson would only finish one place higher in the standings to the year prior despite scoring over eight times as many points than his debut year. That very season would also see the young Scot’s best finish at his home event of Knockhill recording a sixth place to his name.
The 2024 season would see a sabbatical from the series for the then 20-year old. To keep himself involved Patterson raced in GT4 European Series competing in eight events across the campaign. Returning to familiar machinery of the Cupra Leon Patterson is back in the BTCC for the year ahead with Un-Limited Motorsport.
