NAPA Racing UK's Dan Rowbottom has enjoyed a stellar start to proceedings at Knockhill with the two-time race winner topping both Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship free practice sessions.

"The fastest man in FP1 and FP2 can't be bad," confirmed Rowbottom. "Ultimately the car is quick, and it probably should be as we're carrying maximum hybrid. It doesn't mean much for now but it's a good sign ahead of qualifying."

Ash Sutton confirmed the good day so far for the NAPA Racing Ford Focuses, as he made it a one-two for the squad, following his third place finish in the opening session.

TOYOTA GAZOO Racing UK's Andrew Watson left it late to fire his Corolla into third, a welcome confidence boost for the talented young Northern Irishman.

Championship leader Tom Ingram was fourth, continuing his good form despite the #80 Team BRISTOL STREET MOTORS Hyundai carrying minimal hybrid power by virtue of his position in the standings.

Evans Halshaw Power Maxed Racing's Aron Taylor-Smith is enjoying his own fantastic spell behind the wheel of the #40 Vauxhall Astra, fifth place in FP2 suggesting that he could be a contender for the 'Quick Six' qualifying later this afternoon.

Team BMW's Colin Turkington led the way early on but eventually had to settle for sixth, whilst stablemate Jake Hill struggled for the second successive session as puzzled faces filled the WSR garages.

A trio of Toyotas - Aiden Moffat (LKQ Euro Car Parts with SYNETIQ), Rob Huff (TOYOTA GAZOO Racing UK) and Josh Cook (LKQ Euro Car Parts with SYNETIQ) – filled three of the final four places in the top ten, with Restart Racing's Chris Smiley amongst them in eighth.

Qualifying for Round 19 of the 2024 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship commences at at 1520 and will be streamed LIVE via the ITV Sport YouTube channel.
