Cammish conquers in sensational milestone race

31st August 2025

NAPA Racing UK's Dan Cammish took home a fantastic victory in Round 23 of the 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship at Donington Park, as he celebrated his 200th BTCC race in style!

The contest produced one of the most bizarre moments in recent memory as a flash downpour sent the #27 and many others sailing through the gravel.

The rain slowed almost as quickly as it started with more than half a dozen cars scrambling back onto the Tarmac. Cammish held onto his lead, a position he had gained earlier in the race after passing championship leader Tom Ingram.

A Safety Car was scrambled and when the cars crossed the finish line it was Cammish winning from Adam Morgan (Team VERTU) and Gordon Shedden (TOYOTA GAZOO Racing UK with IAA), following the many changes of position during the rain.

It had already proved a dramatic race when contact between NAPA Racing UK team-mates Dan Rowbottom and Ash Sutton sent them both tumbling down the order, with immediate and significant implications to the title battle.

Team VERTU's Ingram held onto fourth, from WSR's Daryl DeLeon and TOYOTA GAZOO Racing UK with IAA's Josh Cook and Árón Taylor-Smith – the latter duo making it a treble celebration for the Speedworks-run squad.

Sutton recovered to finish eighth and it proved vital to his championship chances as the #116 Ford Focus will now start the reverse grid race from pole position later today.

Jake Hill (Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport) and Daniel Lloyd (Restart Racing) were just two of the many drivers that endured a wild off-track ride during the downpour as they eventually rounded out the top ten.

Round 24 of the 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship takes place at 1655 and is set to be a cracker as the title momentum swings one way and then the other... catch all the action LIVE on ITV4.
