Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport reveals title partnership and 2023 livery

MB Motorsport kicked off February by announcing a title partnership with Laser Tools Racing, before three weeks later revealing its 2023 BMW 330e M Sport.

WSR retains Turkington

Having released the news that Stephen Jelley would stick with the squad for the upcoming campaign, February saw WSR confirm that four-time Champion Colin Turkington would also be driving for the Sunbury-upon-Thames team in 2023.

Hybrid power is a big winner in recent survey

With the BTCC Fan Survey having closed in early February, the first key results to be published highlighted the positivity fans felt towards the championship’s introduction of hybrid power, an increase in women now following the BTCC and huge positivity towards the entertainment value of the series.

Ronan Pearson completes EXCELR8 line-up

With three of the four EXCELR8 Motorsport drivers confirmed by early November, the Suffolk-based outfit kept fans on tenterhooks for news of the final piece of the puzzle, but February saw Ronan Pearson complete the Hyundai i30 N line-up.

This year’s Season Launch was announced in February, with the only official pre-season test day set to take place on 12th April at Brands Hatch and free entry for fans.

Butel joins Team HARD. Racing

Jack Butel became the fourth BTCC driver to join Team HARD. Racing’s Cupra line-up, with the Jersey racer targeting Jack Sears Trophy honours in 2023.

NAPA Racing UK reveals line-up and livery

In just its second year contesting Britain’s premier motorsport series, NAPA Racing UK announced an expanded four-car squad for the forthcoming season, with Dan Rowbottom joining Ash Sutton, Dan Cammish and Sam Osborne in the newly-liveried Ford Focus STs.

Taylor-Smith makes PMR switch

The final piece of news in February saw Aron Taylor-Smith announced as part CarStore Power Maxed Racing’s BTCC bill, with the Irishman set to pilot a Vauxhall Astra in his ninth full campaign.
