Mountune will develop and build Team BMR’s Subaru engines for the 2016 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.

The new Levorg model will feature the Subaru Boxer engine, which will be developed and built as a two-litre, direct injection, turbocharged engine.

“Having looked at all the options available to us for 2016 I am excited that Mountune are on board to develop and build our engine for this project,” said Kevin Berry, Chief Engineer of Team BMR.

“With the extensive experience that Mountune have in the BTCC and NGTC regulations, I am extremely confident that Mountune have the expertise and ability to produce a great race engine from this unique Subaru base.”

Mountune has enjoyed a successful 35-year history in the motor sport industry so far and has been powering cars to BTCC victories, namely the Motorbase Fords, in recent seasons.

“We are thrilled to have been chosen to build the engines for BMR’s 2016 championship campaign, and very happy to be partnered with a manufacturer team,” commented David Mountain, Technical Director of Mountune Racing.

“The development team here at Mountune will be working around the clock getting the four Boxer engines ready for pre-season testing and are all looking forward to seeing them perform out on track during this year’s championship.”

Warren Scott, Team Principal of Team BMR concluded: “I am very pleased and excited to be working with Mountune on the development of the engine. I’m positive that even with the very small time frame that we are faced with they will produce a great engine in time for the Official BTCC Media Day on 22nd March at Donington Park.”
