Aiden Moffat passed fit

21st August 2015

Laser Tools Racing’s Aiden Moffat has been pronounced fit to race by the BTCC Medical Director Dr Paul Trafford at Knockhill circuit earlier this morning (21 August).

Aiden briefly lost consciousness after his Mercedes A-Class made heavy contact with an Armco barrier during the second free practice session at Snetterton. He was assisted by marshals but was able to walk away from the incident. He was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge as a precaution but later returned to the circuit after receiving the all clear. He was unable to take part for the remainder of the weekend.

"Snetterton was looking very promising for us," Aiden said. "We had a test session on Wednesday and we tried a big setup change on the car, which suited me very well. From the changes we were posting very quick times and consistently too.

"We tried going further with the changes for FP2 and that, combined with possibly pushing too hard/too soon, led to the crash.

"So absolutely delighted to back at Knockhill this weekend! The car has been repaired and now sports my favourite Knockhill set up. The team has worked very hard to make sure everything is ready for racing at our favourite circuit and the support and good wishes I’ve had from the fans and fellow BTCC drivers and team members has been amazing — I’m certainly ready to bounce back this weekend!"
