On Tuesday (4 July), the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship headed to its annual Goodyear Tyre Test, at the Donington Park GP Circuit.
20 BTCC regulars were on-track, testing out different set-ups, as well as the GP layout for the first time since 2002.
On top of this, Team HARD. introduced two rookies – Daryl DeLeon and Nathan Harrison – into the fold for the day, giving them valuable track time and the opportunity to try their hand behind the wheel of a BTCC drive.
Read what they had to say about the experience below...
Daryl DeLeon: "Driving a BTCC car on Tuesday just simply felt unreal. It was such a special feeling – I cannot even describe it.
"Leaving the pit lane with the limiter, the different engine maps, FWD, going through the gears, this was all a new experience to me.
"It was an amazing day and I would just like to thank everyone involved for allowing me to do this, as it is such a unique opportunity!"
Nathan Harrison: "What an experience Tuesday was! It was nice to finally get back out in a race car after nine months of not racing.
"The British Touring Car Championship is something I’ve all ways wanted to do – my junior career has been moulded around it. From racing in the Clio cup and Mini Challenge, to being in a front wheel drive, it’s something that I’ve always known I want to pursue.
"Moving to Porsche Carrera Cup for the last two years has been amazing experience but to finally jump back into a front wheel drive with Team HARD. was a great experience.
"The Cupra Leon was a great car to drive. A massive thank you to everyone who was involved in making yesterday happen."
