The annual Autosport Awards took place just last weekend (4 December) and during the glittering presentation, Kwik Fit British Touring Car Champion Tom Ingram took the coveted National Driver of the Year crown.
Nominees included fellow BTCC title contenders Ash Sutton and Jake Hill, but it was Ingram who was voted as the best National driver of the 2022 season by Autosport readers, joining the ranks of fellow tin-top icons including Gordon Shedden, Colin Turkington and Jason Plato – who would present the reigning champion with the award.
"I came to this event in 2006 when I won the British Karting Championship, so it's amazing to come back here however many years later and be picking up a main prize," said Ingram.
