The 2021 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship saw three-time titleholder Gordon Shedden make his BTCC return after a three-year hiatus from Britain’s premier motorsport series.
A difficult start to the campaign saw the Halfords Racing with Cataclean driver forced to retire from the opening round, but he proved his pace thereafter, bagging the first of his nine podium finishes throughout the year in the second event.
Donington Park proved his strongest weekend, as the 42-year-old converted pole position into a lights-to-flag victory, before securing his 50th BTCC win in the second race of the day.
