AmDTuning.com with Cobra Exhausts will be back for the 2018 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship – its ninth successive season – after enjoying its strongest campaign to date this year, running a two-car outfit through 30 rounds for the first time.
Ongoing development of its Audi S3 Saloon - which was running the BTCC’s latest specification parts for the first time in 2017 - saw the team take huge strides forwards over the course of the season to end the campaign as genuine contenders for top eight finishes.
Drivers Ollie Jackson and Ant Whorton-Eales both led races, with their combined results giving AmDTuning.com it’s best-ever points tally come the end of the season.
Talks between the team and potential drivers are already ongoing, with AmDTuning.com also seeking to strengthen it’s engineering team as it works towards launching a bid for success in the Independents Trophy.
“As ever, when a season ends, we have taken time to evaluate our options but it is a no-brainer for us to commit to the BTCC for another year,” Team Principal Shaun Hollamby said. “We made huge steps forward over the course of 2017 and thanks to Ollie and Ant, ended the season with our best points haul and the strongest package we have ever had in the series.
“It is important for us to now capitalise on the hard work that has gone into the Audi in order to maximise our chances of success on track in 2018.
“We are keen to strengthen the engineering side of the team to build on the progress we have made so far, and are already in discussions with drivers as we look to put together the strongest pairing we can to fight for the Independents’ titles.
“Whilst we are aware that that will be a big challenge, there is no doubt in my mind that we now have a car that is capable of running right at the sharp end of the grid and our expectations need to reflect that.
"I’m confident that with the plans we are working towards, this season will prove to be a stepping stone to bigger and better things in 2018 and beyond.”
