More than half of the 2014 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship grid will be on track at Brands Hatch tomorrow (11 March), as teams gear up for next week’s Season Launch and official pre-season test day at Donington Park.
Entry to the Kent venue for the test will be free to all spectators and the line-up is headed by five former champions, including reigning BTCC king Andrew Jordan in the Pirtek Racing Honda Civic. He'll be joined by the manufacturer Hondas, as Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden continue to develop the brand new Civic Tourer model.
Local team Motorbase Performance will be bringing two Ford Focuses, with double champion Fabrizio Giovanardi preparing for his return to the series, whilst Jack Clarke continues his testing programme.
The eBay Motors trio of Colin Turkington, Rob Collard and Nick Foster will put the heavy developed BMW 125i M Sport through its paces before the WSR-run team unveils its new livery on Friday afternoon in London.
AmDtuning.com will be bringing their new Ford Focus to the test, whilst Adam Morgan will be another getting to grips with a new machine – the WIX Racing Mercedes A Class.
A quartet of Toyotas is also expected. Speedworks enter their fourth BTCC campaign with Ginetta GT Supercup champion Tom Ingram, whilst United Autosports and Handy Motorsport both embark upon debut seasons. James Cole, Glynn Geddie and Simon Belcher are all set to appear tomorrow.
In addition to the BTCC cars, there will be appearances from Clio Cup and Ginetta G55 support categories too. Entry to the venue is free to spectators and the Kentagon restaurant and bar will be open throughout the duration of the test, which will run from 9am to 5pm.
